The robot was modeled, animated, and rendered as a PNG sequence in Cinema 4D. Raymond, our lead, was filmed on a green screen, and then I filmed a clean plate. Add the layers together, and some artificial camera shake, we have our final shot.

I augmented the sign on the front of the building to match the fictitious pamphlet for a senior daycare center that is seen in the film. This was done in After Effects, and essentially just required a lot of masking and blurring to make the text fit.

All the VFX for this shot was made in After Effects. There's several layers of particle effects going in various directions The heated metal area of the cane was made by tracking several solids that were masked manually to overlay the cane.

In the moment, I completely forgot to turn the tv on to give myself something to track. So this shot was painfully tracked manually, which I would not advise doing if you can avoid it!
